In Moscow on 17 May 2011 the Russian Ministry of Agriculture in cooperation with the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation of the Netherlands will stage the high quality agricultural seminar ‘Russian-Dutch Agribusiness Forum on Dairy and Poultry’. The event will take place during the International exhibition for animal production and meat processing VIV Russia 2011. Showdates of the fifth edition of this top notch trade show are from 17 - 19 May in hall 7 and 8 of the International Crocus Exhibition Center in the Russian capital. In the last few weeks, VIV Russia’s exhibitor list experiences final growth spurt. The organizers VNU Exhibitions Europe and ASTI Group, expect to welcome 340 exhibitors covering a surface of 9,400² net; this is 900m² more than during the previous edition in 2009.
The ‘Russian-Dutch Agribusiness Forum on Dairy and Poultry’ will take place in the Conference Hall of the exhibition venue.
Success factors
High ranking international speakers at this seminar will extensively examine in what way success factors of the poultry and the dairy sector in the Netherlands may contribute to further development of these particular areas in Russia. The key to the Dutch success appears to be the cooperation of various stakeholders within these chains. The seminar will in particular focus on the importance of innovation, and on investing in knowledge and skills development.
Mr. Korolev and Mr. Hoogeveen, two co-chairmen of the Russian – Dutch Agricultural Working Group, are presiding the seminar. Mr. Korolev is the Russian Vice-Minister of Agriculture and Mr. Hoogeveen is Director General of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation in the Netherlands.
New initiatives
The presentation of countries at VIV Russia includes official pavilions from China, Italy and France. There is a special presentation with Spanish exhibitors as well. There are also two new initiatives: a special Feedtech-Croptech Pavilion and the Meat & Poultry Congress. Feedtech-Croptech will be presented for the first time at VIV Russia after the recent successes of this Pavilion at various VIV exhibitions worldwide. The concept involves technology for the production of feed, food ingredients/inputs and fuel.
